Please ensure that you familiarise yourself with the various subjects contained within the TBS Information page. Many of the issues concern both parents and pupils and in some cases refer to parents in the main.

Both Fees & Deposits and the Registration Form are available on this page as downloadable Word documents.

Admission Policy

The British School is funded entirely from pupil fees. It provides a British-style education for the children of British and other expatriate persons working in Nepal, if alternative schooling is not specifically provided. In order to do this, a British-trained Principal, as well as teachers trained in Britain, or with equivalent certification and experience are employed.

The annual budget is prepared to cover the costs of teachers and to equip classes. The numbers of these classes have to be predetermined so that teachers can be recruited and equipment can be procured. Since funds are dependent upon school fees, the budget has to be based on a predetermined minimum number of children.

Children returning from up to one term of home leave will normally be guaranteed re-admission to the school, provided that they have given adequate notice of their intended return date. Children for whom English is a second language will be given a verbal test if they are under seven. Older children will also be expected to demonstrate acceptable English literacy skills. All children will be given an entry assessment before being admitted to a class.
