Advanced (A) and Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level Information

The Cambridge International Examinations Advanced (A) level programme is a comprehensive and rigorous two-year course, which students will study during Year 12 and Year 13. The A level programme has recently been updated and following this review is the most modern pre university course available. Cambridge University has designed the programme with the needs of international students in mind and it is very highly regarded by universities around the world. Our students will learn how to develop their own skills and knowledge base as well as learning how to deal with the specific academic issues, in each of their chosen subjects. As part of the programme they will have the opportunity to develop as independent learners through a problem solving approach to their studies. Our teaching groups are small and the work is focused on achieving high standards. We aim is to send our students off to the best universities around the world on completion of their A level courses.

The school has specialist UK trained staff to teach all areas of the Sixth Form Curriculum.

Students are expected to take 3 or 4 courses in the first (AS) year with each subject being taught for 5 hours a week.

Students will also take part in ICT, PE, English Skills, Careers and PSHE sessions. Sixth Form students participate in a wide variety of extra curricular activities such as community work, sports, music and drama and can also follow the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme programme

The library is fitted with a private study area for Post 16 use with a computer suite and a Sixth Form Study Centre is available for use by the students.
