Welcome to the Foundation class page!

This term our topic is 'Dramatic Dinosaurs'! Mrs. Dino sent us a letter at the beginning of term because she has lost some of her precious dinosaur eggs. We went on a dinosaur egg hunt to see if we could find any of Mrs. Dino's eggs in the school grounds.

We will be learning all about dinosaurs this term and will be taking part in lots of fun, topic-based activities in the 6 Foundation Learning Areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication, Language and Literacy; Mathematical Development; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Creative Development and Physical Development.

Much of our learning is through play. Each week our different independent learning areas are changed to link with the week's theme and to encourage us to play in different areas of the classroom and outdoors. This term our role play area is set up as a Dinosaur Museum, with lots of fossils for us to look at and play with, magnifying glasses for us to use and buckets and spades for when we want to go outside on a dinosaur hunt.

The children have recently made some dinosaur videos which can be seen here.

Outside we have our own vegetable garden and we are looking forward to seeing our cauliflowers and carrots growing this term!


Our teachers are Miss. Lee and Mr. Cannon. Our teaching assistants are Mrs. Maharjan, Mrs. Rai and Mrs. Jha.

Foundation's Topic in Term 1 (August-October 2012) was Story World. We learned to act out stories and we read different stories each week. We acted out our versions of the story of The Enormous Turnip! See the videos below:
