“Without Music, life would be a mistake.” (Nietzsche)

At TBS we aim to provide quality musical experiences for all pupils from Nursery to 6th form. Singing is delivered on a regular basis to all students with the addition of a choir for Secondary and KS2 for those who want to extend their vocal experience. In the classroom the curriculum is delivered through full participation in performing activities on a range of instruments – guitar, keyboard, drum kit, ocarina, tuned and un-tuned percussion, recorder, bass guitar among others – through both solo practise and group performing. Outwith the classroom there are opportunities for pupils to further develop instrumental skills through instrumental lessons, Samba bands and “Rock School - Battle of the Bands” with plenty of performing opportunities.IMG_3147

The above is delivered by an enthusiastic and dedicated team of musicians – Jonathon Cannon (a primary specialist with extensive choral and orchestral experience); Luba Shrestha (piano teacher); Kiran Shahi (drum teacher and drummer for 4 of the best bands in Nepal!); Sunny Tuladhar (guitarist extraordinaire, Music Department TA – also teaches bass and drums!); Abhisek Bhadra (teaches everything, TA and Winner of Best Young Jazz Musician in Nepal 2011!); Iain Gordon (Director of Music).

“Music is the voice that tells us that the human race is greater than it knows.” (Napoleon Bonaparte)
