Namaste, welcome to 3Z.


There are 16 children in our class, 4 boys and 12 girls. We come from ten different countries which are: England, Holland, Nepal, Korea, Japan, Australia, India, Germany, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

         Topic for this term is Vicious Vikings


LITERACY
We start the term by looking at Shape Poetry. We then look at·Stories with familiar settings·and will look at Cressida Cowell's "How to train your dragon". We then move onto Instructions·and will investigate exactly how you do train a dragon. We finish the term by reading different Myths and Legends.

MATHS
We are focussing on Handling Data, Calculating, measuring and understanding shape and Securing number facts.. Learning number bonds and multiplication facts will be a constant thread throughout the term.

SCIENCE
We will be looking at Teeth and Eating and what makes a healthy diet. We then move onto Magnets and Springs and investigate where and why they are used.

ICT
We are looking at databases and will be using Excel to create spreadsheets to answer simple questions.

ART
We will be looking at Celtic and Tibeten ·motiffs which we will use on our Viking shield.

DT
We will be making a Vicious Viking belt.

HISTORY
We will be looking at who the Vikings were, where they came from and why they were invaders.

PSHE
We are looking at Getting On and Falling Out and at Bullying.

THEMED WEEKS
Year 3 and Year 10 will be visiting Bhaktapur on Thursday January 26th. This gives both year groups an excellent opportunity to interact and foster the whole school ethos of The British School. The week beginning·February 13th·is "Enterprise" week.

KS2 PRODUCTION
The KS2 production of "Hoodwinked" will be performed on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd March at The British School. Hope to see you all there.
