Global College International Futsal Championship 2014

TBS Senior Boys' Football team lined up last Sunday morning for their first encounter of the tournament. It was a disappointing first outing as a nervous performance versus Lincoln school did not see the boys reach their full potential. It should have been a closer scoreline at the end but alas the first result recorded was a 7-3 loss.

The second game of the tournament for TBS was against KUHS and the TBS team made a huge improvement on their morning outing. They played with confidence and conviction opening up the play and taking their scoring opportunities. The final score was a resounding 6-1 victory for TBS.
On Monday afternoon TBS lined up against Shubhtara for their quarter final encounter. TBS were locked in a tough battle throughout this game and the score was 3-3 at the end of normal time. A penalty shoot out followed and TBS took control with some cool and calm finishing to qualify for the semi finals.

Tuesday evening saw the semi final date with V.S. Niketan and the British School boys started strongly and were totally in control throughout the first half. Two great chances were missed in the first half and our opponents stepped up their game in the second half though to knock TBS out of the competition.

Well done to all the boys from Year 10 -13 that were involved in the team for some fantastic football displays and great team spirit. A semi-final appearance was a great achievement in this competition and we are making terrific progress. A special mention to coaches Mr.Phillips and Mr.Gyawali for their insightful advice, support and direction throughout the tournament.
