Interschool Football League

It has been another busy weekend for the senior football team as they played two games in two days in their league campaign. With injuries, illnesses and a reported bandh the squad was stretched throughout the weekend, but showing true TBS spirit they did their best to cope with the situation and they represented the school extremely positively. On Saturday, the boys were comprehensively beaten by a very good GEMS team in a fixture with some important learning points. We will hopefully return a stronger side the next time we play them.

On Sunday, the local derby with Lincoln resumed and in typical derby fashion it was a physical and fast paced game. The first half was a very close and even affair with both teams cancelling each other out, but TBS unluckily went in at half time a goal down after a long range effort somehow found its way into the net.

In the second half TBS showed great pride and passion and dominated their opponents, However with 30 minutes still remaining TBS had a player sent off. With everything against us and our regular goalkeeper having to play in midfield due to player shortages, TBS reached deep into their reserves and continued to press culminating in the equaliser they richly deserved. In the final minutes some heroic defending and quick counter attacks almost got TBS the winner but some fantastic saves from the Lincoln goalkeeper kept the game equal at 1-1. Well done to the whole squad!
