TBS Olympians in action!
The annual TBS Sports Day, held on the 12th March at the APF ground in Halchowk, was a huge success. Congratulations to Makalu who were in first place capturing the overall trophy, Kanchenjunga took second place, Annapurna were in third and Dhaulagiri in fourth position.
Primary students arrived bright and early and their events kicked off promptly at 9am. The events carousel was busy all morning and the large number of supporters in the stand were treated to some very exciting events. F1 and F2 had a separate area of the field for their fun and competitive activities. They were all tired but happy by the time they got on the winners podium for their medals and their certificates.
A selection of Olympic Athletic events were on the agenda in the afternoon for the TBS Secondary School students. The field events were long jump, triple jump, javelin, discus and shot putt with track events of 800m, 400m, 200m, 100m and relay. There were many outstanding individual performances and many new TBS records were created. A few students to mention include Tenzin in Year 13 who threw an amazing 29.57m in the discus, Chris in Year 11 who had some great finishes on the track, Medhavi Year 10 whose long jump measured 3.75m, Erica in Year 7 whose good timing ensured her 800m gold medal position and Hugues Year 13 who wowed with his 29.57m throw in the Javelin event. Well done to all the students who participated throughout the day, to all the students volunteers who marshalled on the day and to the parents who supported children so enthusiastically!
