Welcome to THE BRITISH SCHOOL Print E-mail
johnWelcome to the website for The British School, Kathmandu. I hope you find the site useful but please do not hesitate to email us to have any specific questions answered or if you would like to arrange a visit. At TBS, as it is fondly known by residents here in Nepal, there is a friendly atmosphere with happy children and a sense of shared purpose. We are very proud of the students in our school: they support each other to achieve very impressive standards and have high aspirations.

The school is well established and has a very good reputation. The introduction of a Sixth Form in 2004, with students studying the Cambridge International A level, completed the process of becoming a 3 to 18 independent international British school. The school is recognized internationally, by way of FOBISSEA membership and through regular Ofsted-assured inspections. The outstanding work our students do also ensures the school has a positive impact on the local and wider environment. TBS encourages and helps students to build their own skills as confident, caring and adaptable individuals. Our aim is to sustain our position as a centre for excellence at the top of the world and, to do this, everyone in the school works together in pursuit of continuous improvement.

One of the most notable features of TBS is the community feel, where staff build strong bonds with the children, get to know families well and ensure that every child is fully supported at each stage of their learning.

The amazing mix of cultures and nationalities creates a vibrant and caring school, which embraces its students whilst allowing them the freedom to develop and realise their full potential.
