London College of Music
London College of Music Examinations is an examinations board offering graded and diploma qualifications in music. In Asia, they have got their examinations centers in 16 countries - Nepal is one of them and The British School, Kathmandu is the only school in Nepal to offer this.
The TBS Performing Arts Department is delighted to be the first LCM examination centre in Nepal. Examinations are available twice a year (June/November) and allows all our students, as well as musicians from our community, to appear grade examinations.
Graded exams are offered in a wide range of instruments and genres including jazz, popular and classical music. Grades are attained through a progressive system of eight levels. These aim to generate motivation and reward achievement for students. The levels are recognised internationally and UCAS points are awarded for Grades 6-8.
In November 2017, 6 IGCSE music students appeared and passed LCM Music Theory exams - 2 Distinctions, 1 Merit and 1 Pass in Grade 1 and 2 Merits in Grade 2. Welldone to Shreyata, Adit, River, Rishi, Rishav and Oh-min.
