TBS Awards in 2016/17

Our 50th anniversary year has been amazing year for TBS. It is a great honour to have been recognised for the work we do and we will continue to strive to provide ‘excellence at the top of the world’.

Times Educational Supplement (TES) Independent School Awards 2016

British International School Initiative of the Year

The TES Independent School Awards have only one category open to international schools so it was an honour to be given this award for our community work in Dhading. This student-led project has been running for 6 years and in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquakes was the main focus for our TBS rebuilding project. We completed the rebuilding of permanent school buildings for the 3 primary schools we work with and our sixth form students continued to visit their partner schools to work with staff and children on a variety of activities.

British International School Awards 2017

Community Initiative of the Year

Whilst the TES Award focussed on our Dhading project, this award recognises the strength of our overall community initiatives. As a school we work with around 30 community partners on an ongoing basis and all our staff, students, parents, governors and friends can be very proud of this work. The Award was for the sheer range and quality of our community partnerships and our truly outstanding achievements. Our community liaison starts with Foundation 1 playing and sharing with the children of Suryodaya School and every student will work with our community partner organisations from the day they arrive until the day they leave the school. This work and these activities are deeply embedded into our curriculum and calendars and it is a rich and valuable learning experience for all of us at TBS.

British International School Awards 2017

Senior Leadership Team of the Year

It would not be unfair to say that the last 18 months have been about as challenging for Nepal as any in their history. TBS has not been immune to these difficulties yet throughout this period the leadership team at TBS has worked with colleagues across the school to achieve excellence in all areas. Despite the challenges we have faced the school was judged to be outstanding on our BSO OFSTED report in March 2016, continued to innovate and extend our services, to deliver excellent results at all levels, to serve our community diligently and, best of all, to ensure children are happy and safe.

British International School Awards 2017

British International School of the Year

As winners in the two categories above, we were automatically entered into the British International School of the Year category. Considering the quality of the British International Schools in all categories, we were delighted to be awarded this title and feel honoured to be given such a prestigious title. Everyone at the school has worked really hard over the last few years to strive for excellence in all areas and we will not stop working to get even better. This Award in particular is a fantastic way to celebrate what has been an amazing experience and it is a wonderful accolade to be given in our 50th anniversary year!
