Dear students and parents,
Thank you for your continued support as we continue to return to campus in a phased manner. This week, as you will know, we had a confirmed case of COVID and due to the diligence of the family concerned and our school protocol, we were able to ensure everybody was safe and minimise the amount of disruption. Car parking is working extremely well in the mornings so thank you again for your cooperation in this matter. Afternoon pick ups could still be better if more parents could not park in Car Park B and were able to pick up their children from Car Park A at the appropriate staggered times. Fridays are most problematic and will get worse when Primary returns full time, in Phase 2, the week beginning March 22nd. If we can get into good habits before the 22nd, this would be much appreciated!
We continue to look to support families with temporary bursaries for those in financial need and these applications are due for Term 4 fees by the 26th March (applications made after this time will not be considered). Please contact the Finance Department for further details. This week, Ms. Gradden and I have had the privilege of speaking with prospective 6th Form scholars; we were so impressed by the quality of the applications and the exceptional characters of the young people we spoke with. The same can, of course, be said of our present students, who continue to be exemplary in their attitude and behaviour as we experience a different type of schooling on campus.
I have a meeting today with all FOBISIA school Principals today where we will be discussing how different schools have responded to the COVID pandemic with a focus on the impact to our students’ education and wellbeing and how we are addressing these primary concerns. This network is invaluable to us as a school as we continue to share and learn with these schools so that we can provide the very best and safest experience for your children.
Finally, congratulations and welcome to Jennifer Spencer and Urike Gemmer who will be joining the Board of Governors. Our Board does so much to support and guide the school and I know Jennifer and Urike will add much value as we move forward.

We would like to thank Mrs. Jennifer Kuhn Spencer for volunteering as the Owls Representative for the past few years and supporting the school. We are very thankful for all that she has done and congratulate her for her new role as a TBS Board of Governor. Following this, as she is one of the board members now, we are looking for someone to take her role as the Owls Representative. Here is a brief summary of what TBS Owls is and what they have done in the past. The TBS Owls is an informal parent’s association. Their main goal is to support TBS families and staff. In the past, and hopefully again in the near future, the Owls have run a coffee cart on the school grounds. The coffee cart acts as a spot for parents to gather at drop off and pick up. This is a very special place where friendships among parents are formed and questions about TBS and a variety of other things are answered. The proceeds from the coffee cart go to a staff appreciation event at the end of the school year. The Owls also hold welcome picnics and other events throughout the year to welcome new families and bring parents together in an informal setting. They also help support the school in a variety of programs such as International Day and the Christmas market and, on some occasions, raise funds for TBS community partners or other causes. Lastly, the Owls maintain the TBS community Facebook group where school events and reminders are posted. If you are interested in volunteering for the Owls or want more information please let us know.

Devasri has been nominated student of the week for her unwavering commitment to her studies throughout online and on campus learning. Ms. Cooke was particularly impressed with her with her Emily Dickinson presentation in English literature last week.
