Dear Parents and Carers,
In the next few weeks we will unfortunately be saying goodbye to some of our staff members who will be moving on to new adventures around the world. In Primary, this will be Ms Titley and Mr Alcock and in Secondary we are sending our fond farewells to Ms Phillips (English), Ms Saez (D.T), Ms Lama (Maths) and Mr Pass (Media). Ms Ealy, our Primary Assistant Head, will also be moving on and we wish her the very best in her new post. Ms Wiggers will be reprising the role of Primary Assistant Head next year. Many of you in both Primary and Secondary will be familiar with Ms Dennison who works across the whole school and she will sadly be relocating this year too. We are pleased to let you know that Ms Aynsley-Smith will be joining us as Head of ALN in a part time role next year. We also send our very best wishes to Ms Gradden as she moves on this year. Ms Gradden has contributed significantly to TBS over the past 7 years, as both Head of Secondary and Vice Principal. We will be joined by a number of new staff next academic year and we look forward to introducing the following people to you in August; Mr Cambell, Ms Cummings, Ms. Gurung, Ms Leatherhead, Ms Cotterhill and Dr. Hensman. Ms Pathak will also be returning to TBS.
Thank you to all of you who completed our parent survey. It was encouraging to read the very many positive comments and words of thanks in the responses. We had a similar number completing this as in previous years and the results followed a similar trend with almost all parents telling us that they feel that their child is happy at the school and feels safe here. Two particular areas in which we have made progress from previous years, are in making parents aware of what their child will be learning and also in letting parents know how their child is doing with only 2.3% and 2% respectively disagreeing in each category. We are very pleased that our efforts in these areas have been recognised as it has been a focus for the school. Parents were given the opportunity to add individual comments and although these did not show significant trends, there were a few comments highlighting the need for the school to take a wider range of religious festivals into account and also to tackle children’s use of social media. Thank you very much for these comments as they will be discussed as we look strategically at our targets for next year and moving forward.
As we approach the end of the year our Lost Property boxes are once more piling up. Please come and check the boxes for anything that might belong to you. After Friday 27th, all lost property will be given to our charity partners or disposed of and will no longer be available to be claimed. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you have taken your belongings home before the end of term.
