Dear students and parents,
Thank you to those parents that joined us last evening for the information session on the school’s plans to move to Phase 1 and the more imminent issue of the rising COVID numbers in the country. Please click here to view the slides from the meeting. At this point, we believe it is the right decision to keep the school open due to current numbers in the country and the internal numbers that we collate within the school community. We will continue to monitor the situation and take advice from different agencies and of course the government of Nepal. To help us determine the ‘mood’ of the school community, can I ask you to please complete the short survey below. Please complete this survey by Sunday evening by 6 pm. We will follow this up with another Parent Meeting next Friday at 4 pm.
KS5 Parent Survey (for parents with children in Year 12 or Year 13)
KS4 Parent Survey (for parents with children in Year 10 or Year 11)
KS3 Parent Survey (for parents with children in Year 7, Year 8 or Year 9)
KS2 Parent Survey (for parents with children in Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 or Year 6)
KS1 Parent Survey (for parents with children in Year 1 or Year 2)
EY Parent Survey (for parents with children in Foundation 1 or Foundation 2)
Ms. Gradden will be holding a parents meeting on Monday at 5 pm for parents of students in Year 11, 12 and 13 to outline the school’s actions and plans for the upcoming examinations and outline what provision can be put in place to ensure we can successfully navigate the tricky situation CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) has presented us with.
The focus of this week’s newsletter are those students from our Sixth Form, who continue to exemplify everything we wish to see in our students. They continue to show leadership, demonstrate compassion on a daily basis and are always looking to overcome the challenges that are placed before them. We wish them all of the very best as they approach their AS and A Level examinations.
Please have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
We are looking for someone to take the Owls Representative role. Here is a brief summary of what TBS Owls is and what they have done in the past. The TBS Owls is an informal parent’s association. Their main goal is to support TBS families and staff. In the past, and hopefully again in the near future, the Owls have run a coffee cart on the school grounds. The coffee cart acts as a spot for parents to gather at drop off and pick up. This is a very special place where friendships among parents are formed and questions about TBS and a variety of other things are answered. The proceeds from the coffee cart go to a staff appreciation event at the end of the school year. The Owls also hold welcome picnics and other events throughout the year to welcome new families and bring parents together in an informal setting. They also help support the school in a variety of programs such as International Day and the Christmas market and, on some occasions, raise funds for TBS community partners or other causes. Lastly, the Owls maintain the TBS community Facebook group where school events and reminders are posted. If you are interested in volunteering for the Owls or want more information please let us know.

Ms. Van De Kaa has nominated Anju for student of the week she has said that she has just completed her 6 months Advocate program with the Financial Times, and the project lead provided her with a great reference to use as well as commenting on how diligently she have worked, while developing skills of communications, public speaking and time management.
This week’s teacher of the week goes to our beloved Ms. Van de Kaa. The thing we like most about her, is that she listens to our constructive feedback and always tries to make her lessons better than her previous ones. But most importantly, Miss Van de Kaa is simply a very fun person to be around. She is such a positive role model and all of the students really cherish the relationship we have with her. Thank you Miss Van de Kaa for being a positive impact on our community.
