Dear students and parents,
I do hope everybody had a lovely Tihar break and are invigorated for the remainder of what is a short Term 2. It is so important that we maintain the momentum and grasp every learning opportunity. This has been clearly evident in the three days of learning this week with phonics work on the letter ‘T’, ‘making’ healthy pizzas, devising limericks, being creative with light and shadow, exploring the roots of democracy, and doing some advanced work with fractions – an impressive array of opportunities grasped by our primary students. Our secondary students have been experimenting with UV light and pressure, whilst learning of the importance of rest and sleep. Effective speaking and learning the science behind effective revision and study techniques has also been a focus and in good time as UCAS applications are being completed and mock examinations are approaching!
Many of you will have read recent reports about the possibility of schools being able to open when local authorities deem it to be safe. Rest assured we are working with the relevant authorities and are ready to open when it is possible and safe to do so. In the meantime, the Library will be ‘open’ next week from Tuesday, so if you would like to return and take out books, please make an appointment using this form, and when on site, adhere to all health and social distancing rules.
We will be having a Parents Information Session on Thursday 26th November at 5:00 pm where our leadership team will be providing a variety of updates with an opportunity to ask questions regarding our ongoing provision and proposals for a partial, gradual and safe reopening of the campus. Please use this link here to join the session.
Please ensure you check your email as there is some exciting news regarding the appointment of a new Principal! I will speak more over the coming weeks about how we will ensure a smooth transition during this next stage of the school’s development. There is also an email regarding Term 3 fees, including confirmation of the ‘notice of withdrawal’ date which is next Friday 27th November.
Have a lovely weekend, stay safe and get those warm clothes out of the closet!
