Entry Point to our SDG units 

We had an exciting Tuesday morning this week as the Primary learners were called upon to help improve our local area. Ms Gradden announced the very important task as she received a call for help from the local municipality. Pupils, using all their skills, knowledge and understanding that they have gathered from their IPC lessons  were set the challenge of making a change in our local community.

As the primary learners start their new Sustainable Development Goals topic they will think about how this can best be applied to their local community and how they will become the agents of change.

We look forward to seeing all the learning powers be used to solve some big issues and our learners find solutions for improving our local community.

Earth Day

In addition to learning about the Sustainable Development Goals in IPC, we also took time to celebrate the wonderful planet that we have for Earth Day this year. Learners reflected on the changes they could make and made promises, designed posters and wrote poems.

FOBISIA Art competition Success!

Congratulations to Stella Ning, her wonderful portrait showing “My culture through my eyes” was the winning entry for Year 1 in the FOBISIA Primary Art competition run by the English School of Mongolia.

Greetings TBS Kathmandu community! As we start a new term, we are excited to welcome our students back to campus and to provide them with a diverse range of opportunities and experiences that will help them grow and thrive. We are thrilled with the performance of our mathletes on their trip to Mongolia. 

This week we have the bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition out. Students have been navigating themselves on the route, cooking for themselves and sleeping in tents. Next week the year 10 Geographers will go on residential visit to support with their coursework.  

One of the key focuses for this term will be on exams. Both external and internal. We understand that exams can be a stressful time for our students, but we believe that they are an important part of the learning process. Our staff are committed to supporting our students throughout their exam preparations, and we will be providing them with the resources and guidance they need to succeed. We will release the internal exam timetable next week. 

We will also be hosting taster days for our students in Year 6, 9 and 11. These days will give our students the chance to explore new subjects, and to discover new passions and interests. We believe that taster days are a great way to encourage our students to step out of their comfort zones and to challenge themselves in new ways.

We are looking forward to a successful and fulfilling term ahead, and we can’t wait to see all that our students will achieve.
