We are excited to offer an optional Easter Camp for TBS students (Year 1 – Year 6) from April 14 to April 25. The camp includes art & craft, gardening, sports, indoor games and more. You can enroll your child for Week 1, Week 2, or both weeks.

Our Eco Ambassadors are re-writing the TBS Eco Code and they want your input!

You can choose to contribute to 1 or all of these headings.

Our Eco Ambassadors will use these to write the Eco Code.

Prizes for the most creative entries!

As part of TBS’ ongoing efforts to improve the school’s Eco status, our Primary & Secondary Eco Clubs have been working on a range of initiatives. They have collaborated together with the secondary prefects who have guided and coached the primary students to support them in organising events.

This week we saw the first of these events. To encourage more sustainable use of clothing and to make a stand against fast fashion, the Eco Clubs ran age specific clothes swaps. The swapping of clothes is helping us to tackle the issue of over 42,000 tonnes of clothing being sent to landfill each year. In addition, the combined amount raised by both Primary & Secondary Eco Ambassadors was almost 30,000 NRS.

The Primary & Secondary Eco Ambassadors will be updating you on how they are using the funds to continue to improve our Eco status in the coming weeks. Watch out for more information in the next edition of the Yeti News!

Throughout the neurodiversity celebration week, we held many creative activities and fun events at school. On Monday, our community partners, Down Syndrome Society of Nepal (DSSN) came to TBS and participated in some of our PE and music lessons. Student leaders hosted neurodiversity pin sales, photobooths, and lunchtime games. Today, we had a fun time celebrating Odd Sock Day for World Down Syndrome Day. It was very exciting to see so many people taking part and celebrating this week enthusiastically!

To finish out our week, we unveiled a pop-up art installation that promotes this year’s Neurodiversity Celebration Week theme: “Celebrating Different Minds.” Students across the whole school had artwork and poetry displayed in the garden area to showcase each person’s unique perspective on neurodiversity. The amazing different minds of TBS just sparkle with creativity!

After the success of our KS2 expeditions in November, this week it was the KS1 children’s turn to embark on their eagerly anticipated expedition to Three Trees Permaculture Farm near Bhaktapur. In the morning, they engaged in Forest School style activities such as playing in the mud kitchen area, planting seeds, trying their hand at hapa zome, and undertaking a nature themed scavenger hunt. After lunch, the fun continued with the children given the challenge of making adventure sticks before undertaking a short climb to explore more of the local area. The children then returned to TBS where the next part of their adventure began!  They played a variety of outdoor games, excitedly set up their sleeping spaces and then watched a movie with hot chocolate and popcorn before heading back to the hall or library to camp. After an early start on Friday morning, the children reflected on all their fun filled experiences and had a delicious breakfast of pancakes and fruit before heading home for a restful weekend!

In other exciting news, TBS now has a playground chess board! The children were very eager to begin playing this morning, and several of our more experienced chess players also supported in teaching the younger learners the rules of the game. Please can you also support your child in helping them learn how to play chess, which improves working memory, develops resilience, enhances creativity and boosts planning skills. World Language Speaking Exams launch the summer 2025 exam season

The summer exam season started this week for Year 11 students who took their French, Spanish or Mandarin speaking exams. Next week, Year 11 are taking their first language English speaking exams. The speaking endorsement to the IGCSE English exam is being reintroduced to TBS this year for the first time since 2020. Unlike French, Spanish and Mandarin where the speaking exam contributes 25% to the final grade, the English speaking exam does not contribute to the final grade but successful students earn an additional endorsement certification which supports English language entry requirements for UK and other universities, as well as giving students the opportunity to demonstrate their public speaking skills.

Exams continue in the final two weeks of term with A level Art exams in the penultimate week and IGCSE art exams in the final week of term. 

We are finalising the exam timetable for Term 4 and we hope to be able to share this by the end of next week. Ms Williams will be leading a Parent Information Session on supporting your child during exams next Thursday and we warmly invite all secondary parents, not just those in Years 11-13, to attend this session.
