We have come to the end of our first IPC topic, Brainwaves and what a wonderful unit of work it has been.

Our young learners have engaged so well with looking at the ways in which we learn and the cognitive pathways we take.

We have been using our learning animal behaviours and held a quiz during assembly to see which year groups had used the most varied range and which they had used most frequently, it turns out that all of our learners, teachers and the wider TBS team have used all of the behaviours all of the time!

We have been cooperative ants, working together collaboratively; respectful bees, treating each other and our learning environment with respect and of course enquiring owls learning through investigating and discovering new skills. These are just a few examples, and below you can see a snapshot of what we have been up to this week.

We are so proud of how well our learners have settled in and their enthusiastic approach to all aspects of school life is commendable!

We are so proud of all of our students and how well they have settled in. We have had further successes with our iGCSE results.  On Thursday we received the grades from the Pearson exam board. Students took exams with Pearson in Design and Technology, Music, Psychology and Science. 78% of these grades were a 7+ (equivalent to an A or A*).  This is an incredible achievement. The Science results were particularly strong with 87% of students receiving a 7+ and 25% of the students who took the dual awards receiving a 9-9 (essentially a double A**).

On Wednesday we ran a Parent Information Session on curriculum, assessment and grading. In this session we explained the British system and the reports that parents can expect to get about their children’s progress. Thank you to all the parents who attended.

It has been a busy week for many of our students. We have had auditions for the senior school play “Constellations” and tryouts for the NISSA football and basketball leagues. Our FOBISIA Games U15 team (Under 15 refers to Y9 and Y10) has also been selected. They will be going to compete against other international schools in Thailand next term. U13 and U11 events will be later in the academic year. Trails for these age groups will be run closer to the time.
