Key Stage 2 End of Term Assembly
We started the week in the very best way, coming together for our Year 3, 4 and 5 Celebration Assembly to look back on what has been a truly remarkable year. It was a joy to reflect on everything our students have achieved — their growth, their resilience, and the wonderful memories they have made along the way. A heartfelt thank you to all the families who joined us; your presence made it all the more special.
Our Eco Ambassadors were also in the spotlight this week, with our Year 5 Senior Eco Club and Year 1 to 4 Junior Eco Club taking to the stage to inspire the next generation of change makers. It was fantastic to see our students leading from the front, passionately inviting their peers to get involved and join them in making a difference. Our Junior Eco Club also shared some brilliant information about being Water Detectives — encouraging everyone to think more carefully about how we use and protect this precious resource. If your child has come home talking about water saving, you know who to thank!
We then launched straight into Enrichment Week — an exciting and purposeful week of learning deeply rooted in our TBS Stands 4 values of Thriving, Belonging, and Stewardship. It has been wonderful to see students from Early Years all the way through to Year 12 fully immersed in experiences that go beyond the everyday curriculum, connecting their learning to the world around them and to each other. Adventures Through Language
This Enrichment Week, our students embarked on a journey through language and culture without ever leaving Kathmandu! The highlight was a virtual visit to Paris through the Micro-Folie programme at Alliance Française Kathmandu, giving students a window into French art and culture.
Students flexed their creativity by inventing their own original languages, and put language skills to the test through games that required communicating entirely in a foreign tongue. A deep dive into etymology had students tracing words back to their roots, discovering the surprising stories behind everyday vocabulary.
Drama took centre stage as students wrote and performed original dramas in German, bringing their language learning to life through performance.
The week culminated in a delightful hands-on experience: students organised and set up their very own Parisian café, complete with the full atmosphere of a French bistro. They sampled authentic croissants and a selection of French cheeses, rounding off the week with a true taste of France.
Creativity and Imagination
Our EYFS and Year 1 children enjoyed a fantastic Enrichment Week filled with creativity, imagination and hands-on learning. The week began with Art Day, where the children used recycled materials to create their own junk models and decorated colourful plant pots. On Gardening Day, they welcomed a visit from the school gardener and the team from Terra Nepal, who helped them create their own terrariums and learn more about caring for plants.
The children also enjoyed bringing their ideas to life through Helicopter Stories, acting out their own imaginative tales with friends. We also went to our Forest School area, where the children discovered some mysterious dragon eggs hidden in the woodland area! Working together, they carefully collected natural materials to build safe and cosy nests for the eggs.
Our Baking Day on Thursday allowed everyone to measure, mix and create some delicious muffins while developing their mathematical and practical skills. The week ended with our Exhibition Day, where families were invited to see and celebrate the children’s wonderful work. It was a memorable week that celebrated children’s creativity, curiosity and imagination!

Space Explorers
During Enrichment Week, the children have been thoroughly enjoying our Space Explorers theme. They have shown great enthusiasm while learning about planets, stars, astronauts, and the wonders of space through a range of fun and engaging activities. The children have been curious, asked thoughtful questions, and enjoyed expressing their creativity through art, crafts, and hands-on learning experiences. This exciting theme has helped to develop their imagination, teamwork, and understanding of the world beyond our planet while making learning both meaningful and enjoyable.
Music Makers
During enrichment week, Music Makers was a fantastic and memorable experience for all children involved. Children crafted their own tambourines, drums, jingle bells, shakers, mouth harmonicas, castanets and guitars, developing their rhythm, creativity and confidence along the way. This exciting theme helped to develop their imagination and teamwork. Children proudly displayed their handcrafted instruments as part of a live museum showcase. We ended the week with a live music performance using the instruments they had made themselves. It was a very joyful and memorable experience for all.
Wellness Week
During Wellness Week, we took part in a range of activities that supported our physical and mental well-being. We played at a pool party, went rock climbing, completed puzzles, went on nature walks, and joined in fun workout games. The pool party gave everyone the chance to have fun together in the water, while rock climbing helped us build confidence and resilience. We also challenged our thinking through puzzles and enjoyed spending time outdoors. We painted with watercolours, made healthy meals, and played cricket with our friends. The week was full of opportunities to be active, creative, and have fun together.
Cozy Crafters
During Enrichment Week, students in Cozy Crafters explored the art of sewing and textile design while developing patience, creativity, and fine motor skills. Throughout the week, they learned a variety of hand-stitching techniques, including running stitch, back stitch, and chain stitch, before designing and creating their own unique plushies. Students demonstrated perseverance and attention to detail as they transformed simple pieces of fabric into colorful, handmade creations. The week concluded with a presentation of their finished projects, where students proudly shared their design inspirations, sewing techniques, and reflections on what they had learned throughout the experience.
Mix and Whisk
The children thoroughly enjoyed the cooking and baking activities throughout the learning experience. On the first day, they learned about important kitchen safety measures and discussed how to work safely and responsibly while preparing food. They also had the opportunity to create their own recipes and learned about scales, measurements, and the importance of accurately measuring ingredients. The children especially enjoyed mixing and whisking ingredients, which helped develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. They baked delicious chocolate chip cookies, which were their favourite activity, and were excited to see and taste the final results. In addition, they made pizza, popsicles, fresh lemonade, and practised garnishing fruit, learning how presentation can make food more appealing. Through these activities, the children explored different ingredients, flavours, and preparation methods while developing creativity, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and confidence. Overall, the hands-on experiences made learning meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable for all the children.
Little Explorers, Big Adventures
During Enrichment Week, the children enjoyed an inspiring learning experience at the Forest School site in Chobhar, exploring the outdoors through a range of creative and practical activities. The setting encouraged curiosity, collaboration, and meaningful hands-on learning.
The children participated in a bug hunt, observing insects and noticing the different living things around them, including cows, sheep, goats, and birds. They explored textures and patterns through bark rubbing art, collected natural materials to create their own God’s Eye crafts, and wrote acrostic poems inspired by nature.
As part of their creative journey, the children worked collaboratively to design and create a papier-mache model of Nepal’s landscapes, exploring features such as mountains, forests, and rivers. These experiences supported the development of creativity, teamwork, fine motor skills, and appreciation for their surroundings.
The Forest School adventure provided children with the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom, encouraging them to become confident explorers, thoughtful creators, and curious learners.
Expression through Art
During Enrichment Week, the children explored different ways to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas through a variety of art experiences, including calligraphy, nature art, craft, meditation, collage, and colour.
Using natural materials such as leaves and twigs, the children created artwork that reflected their interests and personal preferences. Through meditation, they shared how moments of calm and relaxation helped them feel peaceful and focused. Tissue paper collages encouraged creativity and imagination, while craft activities using balloons and yarn provided opportunities for children to design and create unique pieces that expressed their individuality. During the calligraphy sessions, the children explored different styles of lettering and practised careful letter formation. This helped develop their fine motor skills, concentration, and creativity while encouraging self-expression through beautiful writing.
The use of colour enabled children to communicate their feelings and emotions, and calligraphy offered a creative way to explore lettering while developing concentration, patience, and self-expression.
