Over the coming weeks, information will be shared regarding student leadership positions for 2022-23. Application guidance for KS5 Prefects (including Head Prefects) and KS4 Ambassadors will be shared with students. Please start thinking about these opportunities and if they are something you might like to aspire toward.

Applications for KS3 Aspiring Leaders will take place in Term 4.

Students from Years 1 – 10 have been participating in COBIS’s Mangahigh Competition this week. Students earn medals for completing mathematical activities on Mangahigh, earning points for themselves, their classes and TBS!

Well done to our Top 5 students: Shah Zain Nizam (Y6), Sahas (Y6), Kashvi (Y8), Adhyayan (Y10) and Line (Y6)!

Special shout out to Year 6 and Year 8 for occupying the top spots all week. There are four days to go so keep practising and rising up the ladder!

Beginning by studying Surrealism and the many famous surrealist art pieces, Year 6 focused on the work of Salvador Dali and his use of clocks to convey time and memory in their introduction to the IPC unit ‘They See the World Like This’.

This week, they began sketching clocks from different angles and perspectives; the first step in creating Dali inspired sculptures in later IPC lessons.

It’s been a very active year so far in the Psychology Department for both GCSE, AS and A level students.

Year 10 are making great progress and are currently studying memory, with the students working on their own research projects investigating an area of psychology which interests them!

Year 11 are entering a period of consolidation, preparing for their GCSE exams after nearly two years studying the subject. As part of their review of Year 10 material, they did a fantastic job of decorating the psychology classroom with concepts from the topics covered, which served as a useful reminder of what must seem like so long ago. You can see some of their work in the attached photos. I particularly like the large brain poster produced by Em and Elana (great work!) which adorns the front wall of the psychology room.

Year 12 have been studying real research papers in a variety of areas, developing their critical thinking skills and learning the skills of real psychologists which will be invaluable in life, as well as for those that continue to A2.

Year 13 have completed their study of Psychology and Organisations, including fascinating areas such as leadership, the effects of work environments on performance and even topics such as bullying at work. They are now studying clinical psychology and various disorders and their causes and treatment, and will be continuing preparation for their upcoming exams.

Our Head of Psychology, Mr. Piaf is very proud of all his students and the resilience, determination and enthusiasm they have all shown.
