It is very exciting to be able to report back from the many school trips that are taking place at the moment.
As you will be aware we had 8 incredible expeditions out last week. Yesterday we had a celebration assembly where students from each trip shared a short video montage of photos from the trip. They are really inspirational and I am sharing the links with you here. I hope you enjoy watching them as much as we did yesterday.

Music at TBS – get into the Christmas Spirit!
It is a busy time of the year for our musicians. Tuesday at 5pm will be our Winter concert, featuring the Key Stage 3 PAWS performances as well as contributions from the choir, bands, ensemble and solo musicians. It will be a festive and fun evening and we hope that many parents will be able to attend. Seasonal refreshments (mulled wine and hot chocolate) will be available from 4.30 pm. Thank you to the OWLS parents for organising the refreshments. This is not a ticket event but there will be a collection for community partner projects.
The choir will also be performing at the Kathmandu Christmas concerts on Saturday 7th December at 3.00pm and 6.00pm in the school hall. This promises to be another festive occasion, a chance not only to see the school choir but also a large number of TBS teachers! Entry is free but there will be a collection for local charities.
Our Christmas assembly (parents welcome) on Thursday 12th December (08:15) will also feature some communal singing led by the school choir and they will wrap up the term by helping lead the carol singing at The British Embassy carol service (not that prior registration at the embassy is necessary for this event)
NISSA Girls Basketball
The girls started off in fine fashion with a 30-16 win over Premier. Outstanding performances from Kashvi Thapa and Ede King at opposite ends of the court helped TBS cruise to victory.
The semi-final was a tough game against GEMS and TBS managed to keep it tight for the first two quarters. Despite a valiant effort and strong performances from both Avanis, the team suffered injuries to key players at important moments and the game slipped away from them in the second half, ending 32-24.
It was difficult for the team to pick themselves up for the 3rd place play off and despite losing to RBS, the team should be extremely proud of the progress they have made this season. With a squad that includes lots of Year 11s and 12s there is surely more to come!
NISSA Boys Football
The boys also started off finals day well with a 3-0 victory over KISC. A superb volley from Philip Braam capped off a very professional performance from TBS.
The sem-final against Ullens was a tight affair with little to separate the 2 sides. Despite creating several good chances TBS were not able to break through the Ullen’s defence and lost 0-1.
Despite the disappointment of losing yet another tight semi-final the boys came back strong and won the 3rd place play off against Premier 1-0. A man of the match performance from Triaral Namgyal and TBS player of the tournament Saugat Basnet, both from Y11 gives us huge optimism that the team will bounce back well next year.
