Dear Parents/Carers, Staff and Students,
Thank you to those of you who signed up for the additional Sunday Nepali lessons. You should have already received information about when to arrive at school and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
I would like to ask students and parents to consider how they travel to school and what they can do to ensure that it is a safe journey for you and others on the road. If you are travelling on a bicycle, scooty or motorbike, please ensure that you wear a helmet. WHO Nepal cited statistics show that use of a high-quality helmet can lead to up to a 42% reduction in the risk of fatal injuries and a 69% reduction in risk of head injuries during a motorcycle road crash. It is also required by law (Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act, 2049). Stay safe, wear a helmet and encourage others to do so too.
In order to keep the roads safe around the school, please remember that there is a one way system in place and there are parking restrictions around the school. Travelling the wrong way and parking opposite the school gate, both cause blockages which delay everyone’s journeys. Frustrated drivers in the queue then try to overtake, which can lead to very dangerous situations for both cars and pedestrians. Please show care and respect for our students, staff and families in the way that you drive and park.
Wishing you all a lovely and safe weekend.
Caro
