Secondary Spring CPA Showcase – an evening of dance, drama and music
TBS once again brings enthusiasm and glee into a production!
By Avigya (Year 7)

“ The show was a great opportunity for students to express themselves through music and have fun!”- Ms Freeman
As the title suggests, on the evening of Thursday 2nd April the annual Spring Concert occurred, to end the term with delight and joy.
The concert ranged from students from Year 7 to 12 with some upper primary too and consisted of beautiful solos, duets and rock bands. Alongside this there were brilliant performances from the KS3 dance club, Year 7 and 8 choir and drama club who acted 2 pieces from the play Arabian nights, which they all worked extremely hard for – The Little beggar and Ali-Baba. Sanghamitta from year 7, a performer and singer reported that “ I enjoyed acting the most!” In company with the drama show the concert followed the theme Arabian Nights and most performances were closely linked with it. “ All the songs were so good!” quoted by Vedanshee in Year 8, a singer and soloist. The show was hosted by one of our creative and performing arts prefects Aditi in Year 13 and by Mateo at the end to invite in some comedy and finish the production with laughter.
However, the show could not be possible without the music teachers’ help. They assisted almost every song and the technician crew who managed the equipment and lights. Thank you to all who participated and engaged in the show. You all put so much time and effort and all were fantastic. Overall the night ended in great success and rejoice and we hope to achieve the same if not better results next year. As Nikhil from Year 11 (guitarist from a band performance) said, “The evening was amazing.”
Duke Of Edinburgh
By: Aarambha (year 10) and Luveena (year 9)
Last Friday on March 27th, we went to Shivapuri national park where we camped at Kakani Scout Camp for our DofE Bronze Award. Firstly, we had to weigh our bags to measure if it matches the appropriate capacity and leave it overnight.

On the first day we arrived at school at the usual time, followed by us leaving school at around 8: 30 AM for a long and cramped yet exciting journey. This experience was new to all of us but not as much as we thought, we used to go on expeditions during our time as a KS3 student!

Afterwards, we hiked 14km upwards about 454m and ate our packed lunch. It took us about 7-8 hours. Then we had some leisure time from 4:30 onwards. Afterwards, it was time to make dinner using food items the group members brought where everyone got into their groups and made their delicious food. After dinner, all of us gathered around with Ms. Lee and decided to play a game of Werewolf which gave everyone a chance to relax and socialise beyond the smaller groups. Before we went to sleep, there was a big spider in one of the rooms and 2 dogs in another room. That was a bit of a scare for everyone, but that’s how strong our community has been built, to support each other, help each other and take responsibility.

The final day we walked down 7km, roughly about 500m, which took us about 3-4 hours and we then reached school around 1 o’clock. This new experience had intrigued us, it was thrilling, tiring, exciting yet horrifying. Sometimes we all had fun and we got to socialise with each other and have a wonderful time out of our comfort zone. I think most of us would like to try for silver next year as well!

U13 FOBISIA Sports Tour
By: Luveena (year 9)
The Year 7’s and Year 8’s had a yet another fantastic FOBISIA trip over the weekend. As every year, our school has a try out, selection, and practice throughout the term. We saw fantastic progress in our community, compassion and teamwork!

In addition to our school, there were 7 other schools participating from China, Malaysia and Thailand. In athletics we saw marvelous speed and agility, therefore managed to win 15 medals in total, 2 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze. In swimming we had 8 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze, which totals another 15 medals.
Overall our boys team were Football Champions and came 4th in Basketball.
Our girls team were 5th in Basketball and 7th in Football
“We had a great season, over the past years I’ve been on FOBISIA, I haven’t seen as much teamwork and co-ordination among players and coaches”
Joshua, FOBISIA Athlete
“The Team did excellently in football, and we did well on all other sports, I personally took home three gold and two bronze”
Mayukh, FOBISIA Football Captain, & Athlete
“I had a great time in relay, and I medalled in all my events, I also liked to say we did great placing first in football and Mayukh was unstoppable in our matches. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved”
Daniel, FOBISIA Athlete

“On behalf of the coaching staff, we could not be more impressed with the students’ conduct, character and competitive spirit over the course of the trip. The students carried out TBS’s excellent reputation at FOBISIA and certainly made the most of the experience – developing not only as athletes but as young independent individuals and carrying away memories and friendships that they will look back on for many years to come with fondness.”
Ms. Watt
This FOBISIA season was phenomenal, and our athletes did exceptionally well individually and as a team. Great job well done to every one of our students and a big thank you to all the teachers who helped make this possible.
Student Leaders
By: Abhiroop (year 11)
This week, students from Year 11 and Year 12 took part in interviews for the 2026–27 student leadership positions, held between the 25th and 27th of March. The process offered an exciting opportunity for students to step forward, showcase their ideas, and compete for roles that play a meaningful part in shaping school life at The British School.
Student leadership has long been an integral part of the TBS spirit. These roles do more than represent a title, they encourage responsibility, initiative, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to service, curating healthy competition among the students. For many applicants, the process itself is already an important step in personal development and a strong addition to future CVs and university applications. This year, the leadership positions have been expanded by the addition of two new positions for Community Prefect positions. This addition reflects the school’s growing emphasis on service and giving back to the community, as well as our commitment to strengthening the relationships between our school and our community partners.
The interviewers were head of Key Stage 5; Ms. Sheldon, and Head of Secondary; Mr. Draper. The applicants all await their results on the 21st of April. The role of a student leader is not simply to hold a position, but to act with vigour, and purpose. As we approach Easter Break, TBS is excited for the tenure of our new student leaders.
KS3 Awards Ceremony
By: Luveena (year 9), Meekha (year 9)
The KS3 award assembly happened this Wednesday and with it came a plethora of achievements and congratulations. Something TBS does excellently is celebrating all the accomplishments of its students, which was displayed by the variety of awards students received. Ranging from the house point cup, attendance, music certificates, sports day, world scholars, marvelous mentees to science week posters.
It’s such a fun event to see all the students being celebrated for all the good things they’ve done throughout the term, and the little things that they have achieved. In our assembly, we started off with house point badges, where some students got bronze (above 100), silver (above 200), gold (above 300), and some of our students even managed to get platinum which is for above 500 house points.
For the attendance celebration, we had to spin the wheel for 3 different prizes; a Vicky Stationary voucher, a Workshop Eatery voucher and a Yeti Cafe voucher. In the attendance cup of overall mentors, 9M won the cup.
For platinum individual house point badges, we had Aadvik 7D, Avigya 7K, Laksh 7M, Henry 8A, and Joshit 8A. Great job to all the students who did an excellent job! As for the mentor house point cup, in first place we had 7D, in second place we had 7M and in third place we had 7A.

In the Science Week poster competitions, we had 3 honorable mentions for Nuva, Joshua and Luveena. As for our competition’s winner who will “spin the wheel” for the 3 prizes we had, Riva, Cailyn and Renee.
London College of Music Exams were presented to 7 students who have recently passed their LCM grade exams. Well done you you all.

At TBS, we strongly believe in encouraging and uplifting students to their best potential. We are proud of all our students for achieving and accomplishing all that they have!
We also said farewell to three students who are leaving at the end of term, with our traditional candle lighting ceremony. We wished them all the best in their future schools and reminded them that they are always welcome at TBS and always part of the TBS family.
