PSHE
Students are focusing on community partnerships in PSHE. Following last week’s assembly launch of our vision for Collaborating with Our Community, mentor groups have begun planning how they can engage with their year group’s community partner (see photos below).
Next week the Community Partner Christmas gift bag initiative will be launched and with Key Stage 3 Ambassadors leading this project. We are targeting a record number of Christmas bags to gift to our community partner schools this year. As well as our senior community partner expedition taking place in expedition week, most of our other expeditions combine adventure and challenge with opportunities to serve the local community. Mr Palmer is leading a Parents’ Information Session on Monday if you would like to find out more about how our community partnerships are being developed this year.
Year 10 Descriptive English writing Educational Visit
Year 10 students visited Boudhanath Stupa on Wednesday 6th November to gain inspiration for their First Language English coursework. The educational visit provided students with the opportunity to get some excellent notes and begin writing their first drafts, ready for improving over the coming days and weeks.
Senior School Production 2024 – Joseph K.
We are very excited that our Senior Production of Joseph K is being performed in the Drama Studio next Thursday (14th November) at 5.45pm. We expect the play to run for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes with no interval.
Seating is extremely limited in the Drama Studio so, for the children performing in the play, we have reserved your family two tickets for the production. If you would like to redeem these, please could you complete this form by Tuesday 12th November. You can also scan the QR code on the poster attached. Remaining seats will be open for others to book after Tuesday. Please note this play contains a content advisory notice.
Secondary Expeditions
We are very excited about the expeditions which are fast approaching in the Secondary section. This week, we have had 3 parent information sessions (PIS) with 5 more next week. If you wish to know what should be packed, where the destination is or review the PIS slides, please see the website here. I have also included the slides used for the presentation in Year 7, 8 & 10.
Year 7
Year 8
Year 10
We have informed students that are taking part in Trip B – The Kalika Schools visit (Years 11-13) that there has been a change in destination. After a review, we have decided that our pupils will be able to make a bigger impact at a collection of schools in Chautara. The location is East of Nepal, and will take an estimated 3 hours to reach. We will provide more information during the PIS on Wednesday. Kit lists and activities will remain the same.
