Dear Parents/Carers, Staff and Students,
Thank you so much for attending our International FoodFest this afternoon. In addition to being an academic learning experience, it was a delicious treat for the whole school. I particularly enjoyed seeing how excited the students were on their stalls, as they explained their dishes to enthusiastic customers. Well done too for everyone’s efforts to ensure it was a Leave No Trace event as much as possible. I will let you know how much we raised for our community partners next week, once all the funds have been counted.
As a FOBISIA board member and member school principal, I am delighted to announce that FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) has launched an exciting new partnership with other British educational organisations. The British International Schools Safeguarding Coalition (BISSC) is a ground-breaking collaboration bringing together FOBISIA, Association of British Schools Overseas, BSME – British Schools in the Middle East, COBIS – Council of British International Schools, National Association of British Schools in Spain, Latin American Heads Conference and The Safeguarding Alliance to pioneer a shared commitment in upholding the highest standards in safeguarding.
BISSC will lobby the UK government to provide greater and more effective safeguarding support and guidance to the British international school sector, including, but not limited to:
- The establishment of the International Teaching Regulation Agency (ITRA)
- The establishment of the Misconduct Disclosure Scheme for International Schools (MDSIS)
- The creation of a shared resource hub for British international schools.
- The strengthening of partnerships safeguarding between BISSC, the Government and regulators.
On Thursday December 7th, TBS is running a Parent/Carer Information Session to identify friendship issues impacting your children alongside information about different types of bullying and how as a parent or carer, you can play your part.
