Dear students and parents,
As we reach the end of our second week of online continuous learning, as you know, we have formally entered a lockdown period for two weeks in the valley. Our students continue to show the resilience and focus which has been so evident over the past year. Our staff continue to explore new ways of making learning engaging and accessible. Our parents continue to be supportive, offering words of encouragement and feedback. We will be sending out a survey to all parents to request further feedback; this will be used in conjunction with student and staff feedback to further refine our provision.
Several members of our community have made the decision to temporarily relocate to their home countries, including some of our teachers. Could I please ask all parents to inform the school if you have decided to temporarily relocate, so that we can continue to support your child in their learning from a different time zone.
CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) continues to be evasive during this challenging time although they have, once again, promised clarification on our situation by the end of today. We have mitigated all of the possible negative outcomes that we are able to, based on the various decisions CIE may make, to ensure we are ready to react immediately in the best interests of our students. We will of course let you know as soon as we receive any updates and we thank you for your ongoing support in this matter.
Although COVID numbers continue to increase and the indicators suggest we are unlikely to return to campus learning in the short term, we are still hoping, planning and preparing for a return to campus. We will provide all parents with regular updates with regard to a return to campus date but with some staff and students out of country, we will need three weeks to prepare accordingly (in the interim period we will provide some aspects of campus provision if safe and permissible).
After a challenging week, do please carry on reading for some uplifting and positive illustrations of our students’ achievements, with a focus on PE this week.
Please stay safe everyone and have a good weekend.
