Dear Parents/Carers, Staff and Students,
Thank you very much to everyone who has supported our secondary expeditions over this week. Although the weather was not always on our side, the students and staff did not let this dampen their spirits. Particular thanks go to the staff who have been supporting the students through their adventurous activities, the providers we have worked with (The Last Resort, Borderlands, Himalayan Trails and Club Himalika) and to the team back at base (largely Ms Gradden, Ms Khetan and Mr Shrestha) who have been coordinating contingency planning and communications from school. It was wonderful to see the students’ positivity as they returned this afternoon and the real joy on the faces of the parents as they welcomed their children home.
Please find the results of the survey that we conducted with parents and carers last term. Thank you very much for your positive feedback and for showing such support for our school. Almost all parents said that their child is happy at the school (95.9%) and feels safe at the school (97.3%) and that they would recommend this school to other parents (95.2%). Two of the areas that we will work on based on parental feedback were ensuring that we communicate the outcomes with parents once they have brought something to us and ensuring that parents are aware of the high expectations that we hold for their children.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Quiz on Friday. It was a really fun community event and incredibly successful with the aim of raising funds for our community partners. Thank you to all of the organisers and the TBS Owls team who helped to make it so special and even served food by Yellow Bamboo. Mr Akkari and Mr Jamieson hosted a quiz of 9 rounds with a raffle held in the middle with a wide range of fantastic prizes, generously donated by parents. We had a fantastic night and raised an amazing 200,788.66 NPR profit for our community partners. This will make a huge difference to them and we thank all involved for their generosity.
The Year 5 and Year 6 production of Trek to the Top is promising to be an exciting end to Term 1. The children have been preparing for weeks and we are delighted to be able to see the production next week (Year 6 on Wednesday and Y5 on Thursday). Please look out for the posters that the children have made themselves which are visible around the site.
