Dear Students, Parents and Carers,
There is nothing better than seeing our school community come together and this weekend will be a wonderful opportunity to see old friends and make new ones. Our Family Picnic is designed to welcome new joiners to our school and help everyone to connect with others in the TBS community. It is a “bring a dish” or “potluck” lunch event and we look forward to seeing some of your signature dishes at school. Please join us from 11am – 1pm on Sunday September 4th and bring the whole family.
At TBS, we want to ensure that parents can learn about our school in many different ways. As well as all of the information on the website (including the curriculum details so you know what your child is learning), our parent-teacher consultations, reports, emails and of course the Yeti News, we regularly hold Parent Information Sessions. Here is a flavour of what is coming up, further details will be sent out before each event:
Term 1 Week 4 (05/09/22) Sports at TBS (All Year Groups)
Term 1 Week 5 (12/08/22) Information regarding the FOBISIA U15 event (Invite Only)
Term 1 Week 5 (14/08/22) Applying to University (Y13 and Y12 parents)
Term 2 Week 1 (15/10/22) International/Curriculum Day Showcase (All YGs)
Term 2 Week 4 Key Stage Sessions on Reading at TBS
Term 2 Week 6 Maths at TBS
Term 2 Week 8 Holiday Learning
Next week we will be holding a whole school Parent Information Session (PIS) about physical education at TBS. This will explain the sporting opportunities available to our students, both as part of the curriculum and for extra-curricular activities. This will start at 4:40pm in the hall on Monday and we expect the session to last around 30 minutes.
Our school is accredited by British Schools Overseas and we will be hosting a team of inspectors next week who will be here as part of the BSO accreditation renewal process. They will be observing lessons, meeting with teams, analysing data and looking at students’ work. We look forward to sharing our achievements with them and introducing them to our wonderful students.
There have been a number of cases of dengue in the local area. The school has taken a number of measures to protect our students and staff such as full site mosquito fogging three times a week and having plug in devices in classes. Wearing mosquito repellent reduces the risk so please consider this before sending your children to school. Further information can be found below.
